Online Safety Expert Group

Who are we: Created in 2025 The Online Safety Expert Group (OSEG), is an informal multi-stakeholder gathering of online safety experts and organisations from across Europe

What are we doing: Working to ensure online child safety legislation is practical, effective and respects the rights of parents and children

Why: This group was formed to review and monitor new online safety legislation to try to ensure that it is balanced, well considered, effective and practical while respecting the rights and responsibilities of all.

The story so far: We have reviewed the DSA Article 28 with recommendations and drafted a common principles document aiming to bust the myths regarding the banning of minors from social media. Details can be downloaded from the “our work” section of the website.

Join us: If your organisation would like to be part of OSEG or would just like to be kept up to date please reach out via the contact us link at the top of page.
